BMS Thailand Action Team Visit

BMS Thailand Action Team Visit

On Tuesday 7th May, Collective Worship at Branscombe C of E Primary School was led by a team of young people who were touring churches, schools and other venues in the UK to share news of the adventures they had earlier this year, when they spent six months living and working in northern Thailand. This was part of a year out scheme run by BMS World Mission and the children enjoyed hearing some of the stories of the four young people, who explained that during their time in Thailand, they had visited and supported a range of churches, schools and projects.

They taught English, organised activity weeks for children, helped with building projects and supported at Hope Home in Chiang Mai, a foster care home for children with special needs. The team shared with the children of Branscombe School some of the things they had done with the children they worked with in Thailand, including games and songs. They talked about some of the things they had learned, especially sharing the messages that 'God is with us, wherever in the world we go' and that 'Thai children are really just like British children - they enjoy all the same things!' It was interesting to hear a bit more about the country of Thailand in a week where the coronation of the new Thai king had made the news!
