Harvest Fair Models

Model-making Competition for the Branscombe Fair

As soon as the children returned to school in September, they were busy getting ready their contributions to this year’s Branscombe Harvest Fair. This year, in an effort to promote recycling and re-using waste, the children were invited to enter a model made from reclaimed materials that might otherwise have been thrown away. Having collected these materials throughout the summer holidays, the next challenge was to plan and create their models. Linking in with their current topics, the children of Class One made models of animals to support their ‘Carnival of the Animals’ topic, while the children of Class Two made models of places in Branscombe to support their ‘Our Local Area’ topic. These models were then taken to the village hall for judging and display at the village Harvest Fair on Saturday 14thSeptember. Some of the children also entered models that they had been working on at home over the summer holidays.
