Non Electric Day

The Eco Club organised a very thought provoking day towards the end of term. Five of the eco club members posed as a team of Electric Inspectors and entered assembly and forcefully warned the school about how much electricity is being wasted! They declared that no more electricity was to be used for the rest of the day! No lights were put on, the teachers couldn’t make coffee or use the dishwasher, even the interactive whiteboards were given a day off.

During the afternoon Michael Horsnell from the ‘Kaieteur’ shop in Sidmouth, brought some of the toys and gadgets he sells which are solar powered for the children to play with.

At the end of the day the inspectors revealed that we had used a quarter of what is usually used per day.
