Allotment

In the summer of 2011 the children worked in their school Knot Teams to create scarecrows. Some governors and parents worked with the groups and the end results were brilliant, we even have a scarecrow dressed in school uniform!

Class 2 created some papier mache vegetables and wrote some vegetable poems to hang around the allotment to decorate it and Mr Lovell planned how the vegetables should be planted so that they made the shape of the school logo.
We were very pleased to win the Sidmouth Rotary Club ‘most improved school allotment’ award in their summer competition. Some of the children accompanied Mrs Gray and Mr Lovell to the award ceremony at The Riviera Hotel in Sidmouth.
The children enjoyed eating the salad they had grown to accompany their lunches.
