Welly Walk

On 20th October the whole school went on a sponsored walk with the National Trust Community Ranger, Lucy Morton. The walk was to raise money for the Farm Africa ‘Give Poverty the Boot Campaign’. During the term the children have been studying topics based on ‘ourselves’ and so we have talked about healthy eating and linking this to growing vegetables in the school allotment. We also talked about how some countries find it more difficult to grow crops. Farm Africa provides the training and support that poor rural communities need to identify and implement appropriate solutions to many of the key problems they face. www.farmafrica.org.uk

The children designed fun pairs of wellies and some children even decorated their wellies for the walk itself. During the walk Lucy told the children about different autumn nuts that they may find in the woods and which animals may have eaten them.
