Branscombe’s Royal Wedding

The event of the year took place at school a couple of days before Kate and William’s wedding! The marriage of Prince Curtis and Miss Isobel had been planned for months by the children of class 2. Their class topic in the Spring Term had involved maths work about how many pieces of wedding cake could be cut from their model wedding tiers. Their literacy work involved writing invitations, newspaper reports and poetry. In religious education the children learnt about wedding ceremonies and wrote their own wedding vows. In art they designed commemorative plates.

On the wedding day the couple were joined by royal guests, villagers and parents. All the children hung the wedding vows on a special tree in the playground. Everyone then enjoyed a street party and the Royal Couple cut a beautiful wedding cake baked by the staff from the school’s kitchen.
