Honey Day

A local beekeeper, Mr Richard Unwin came to talk to the children about beekeeping and the charity he set up called Hives Save Lives. The charity was started to provide bee hives to people in Uganda.

By introducing better equipment and training beekeeping can provide a viable income for people who, in many areas, are living on less than 60p a day.

The children were really interested in Mr Unwin’s talk. They asked some very thoughtful questions and they wanted to do something to help his charity.

So the children made some scones and after giving a donation to Hives Save Lives the children enjoying eating them served with honey!
