Class 2 National Trust October 2016

National Trust - October 2016

In support of their work on Invaders and Settlers, Class 2 began their October National Trust session by playing an invasion game. There were two teams: Romans and Celts. Each ‘warrior’ wore a tail to represent a ‘life’. The two teams had to walk around the space between their two bases. At a signal, one team ‘attacked’ the other team, chasing after them to remove their tails. The teams worked together to discuss and develop their strategies to avoid being caught.

Next, the children thought about the different jobs that would be needed when setting up a new settlement. In two groups, each person took on a different job role. Staying in these roles, they then looked at a sack full of objects and discussed which five would be most useful to help establish the new settlement.
