Smugglers Gold Theatre Performance

In July the children watched a performance of the play ‘Smuggler’s Gold’ at the Village Hall. The ‘Smuggler’s Gold Jurassic Coast Heritage Touring Project’ has been formed out of a partnership between The Common Players and East Devon Museums. Their aim is to engage and involve audiences actively with the heritage and natural geology of East Devon Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, its environment, history and culture.

The play was full of live traditional music and tells the fictional story of an Axmouth fisherman whose house on an East Devon cliff top is falling into the sea because of coastal erosion.
